Dan Anderson of SDOT on the City of Seattle Transportation Levy

#TheDayWithTrae - Meet Dan Anderson, Public Engagement Manager and Levy Renewal Communications Manager for the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT). With over 15 years of experience in urban transportation communication and community engagement, Dan has worked on some of the most challenging projects across Seattle.

Starting his public service career as an intern in the U.S. Senate, Dan worked for the Mayor of Portland as Public Advocate and eventually acting Communications Director and Press Secretary. He has also been the public face of Portland's bike program, streetcar expansion, safety, budgeting, and long-range planning.

Throughout his career, Dan has led teams in communications and community outreach at King County Road Services and Metro before coming to SDOT in 2016. His expertise in outreach has been paramount in the success of many bike, walk, transit, and paving projects across Seattle.

Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature and creative writing from the University of Washington, an MBA from the UW Foster School of Business, and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Oregon.

Recently, Dan stopped by The Day With Trae Show with TraeAnna Holiday to discuss the City of Seattle Transportation Levy Renewal. Click the link below to watch the full interview and see what Dan and his team have planned for the future of Seattle's transportation.
