Meet Jerrell Davis, known creatively as Rell Be Free, a multifaceted artist and community organizer based in Seattle's South End. Embracing roles as both an organizer and "Underground Educator," Jerrell integrates circle keeping, education, and the arts into his community work. As a musician, Rell Be Free has released 11 projects to date, showcasing his prolific creativity and high-energy performances. He is dedicated to creating platforms that elevate young artists and amplify their voices within the community.
In addition to his music career, Jerrell has ventured into acting, marking a significant milestone in 2022 with his debut in a commercial campaign titled “They Think They Know You.” This campaign garnered widespread attention across the Northwest, airing on television and featured in local newspapers. His performance earned him a nomination for a Northwest Emmy. Building on this success, Jerrell starred in the short film "Biological," directed by Seattle's Justin Emeka, which premiered at Seattle's Black Film Festival in April 2024 and has gained recognition at film festivals nationwide. His burgeoning acting career promises more exciting roles and projects on the horizon.
