Currently, he is deeply involved in shaping the story of the Seattle Black Panther movement.

His journey as an educator and coach has endowed him with invaluable skills in communication, empathy, and leadership. These qualities, coupled with his background as a mediator and facilitator, have been pivotal in earning the trust of the Seattle Black Panther comrades and the wider community, enabling Rick to authentically portray their stories.

He is passionate about using film as a medium to shed light on underrepresented narratives, driving positive social change and sparking important conversations.

Rick stopped by The Day With Trae to discuss the screening of a rough-cut sampler of the upcoming documentary Seattle Black Panthers Fight for Justice & Freedom. This rough-cut sampler provides an unfiltered look into the Seattle chapter of the Black Panther Party during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Through firsthand accounts from former members, community leaders, and historians, "Seattle Black Panthers Fight for Justice & Freedom" sheds light on the challenges faced by African American communities in Seattle and the tireless efforts of the Panthers to effect change.
