Step into YVEY salon and experience contemporary hotspot that is a perfect union of high-end salon and the hardy barbershop under one roof in a trendy, minimalist space. Yvey takes a gender-neutral direction in the aesthetics of his shop, so that it is neither completely a salon nor completely a barbershop, but a refreshing twist of both. The soul of the salon is distinguished because of its owner’s dedication to art and beauty in all its forms. Yvey cultivated his talents at Gene Juarez’s flagship salon in Downtown Seattle. He was mentored by premier hairstylists and created a solid foundation for his cutting technique, vision for servicing diverse clientele, and personal leadership. Yvey elevated his craft by also attending training and fashion events at top world beauty institutions in Paris, New York, Tokyo, and Guadalajara, just to name a few. He used the opportunity to see how different people respond to their hair. Afterall, the relationship people have with their hair and their self-image can differ at a cultural level. Observing these differences and similarities indulged his curiosities and enriched his knowledge to that he can provide the best service he can to his clients.

More than anything, Yvey is actively building a community through volunteering. He attests that the experiences that shaped his skills the most were working with cancer patients for three years through Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The very personal and emotional moments he went through with each person has shaped his philosophy and deepened his emotional intelligence. He went on a journey with each woman that gave away her crown in the face of pain and struggle that accompanies a cancer diagnosis. These raw and challenging situations, rife with hugs and tears, became irreplaceable moments that strengthened his approach to the emotional side of cutting hair. Since then, Yvey knew he wanted to be known for building a community and taking a human-centered approach to his craft.

With a flair for sophistication and artistry, Yvey and the expert staff will give you an excellent haircut in a modern studio that is inclusive to all that wish to look and feel their best.”
