Trae Holiday talks Emmy nomination for The Day With Trae Intro
Dear Trae Holiday, I am bursting with pride right now for your Emmy nomination for 'The Day With Trae' intro! It's wild to think we've been collaborating since 2018. From those early days of Converge, you just got it. You believed in the vision, saw the potential for what we could build together, and poured your heart and soul into making it a reality.
You're not just an incredible talent on camera, Trae; you're an amazing friend. You’re the one who always lends a listening ear, offers comfort, and has been that shoulder to cry on. Most people don't know, but coming out of 2020, I had short-term memory loss, and on the Morning Update Show, I would sometimes forget what I was saying mid-sentence, but you never let me fall; you would always catch my words, finish the sentence, and never miss a beat.
I remember those early brainstorms, the late nights, the shared struggles and triumphs. We've made history together, Trae. As you know, 'The Day With Trae' intro is unapologetically Black, a celebration of those vibrant 80s and 90s Central District vibes. It reflects our culture, our community, and our history. It's more than just an intro; it's a statement.
This Emmy nomination affirms your exceptional work, creativity, and genuine dedication to telling our stories and ensuring our voices are heard.
It's a testament to your real connection with our community, which resonates deeply and makes all the difference. Watching your journey and seeing this recognition is truly inspiring, and I can't wait to see what you accomplish next. I’m so proud of you.
Thank you, Chelsea Riddick-Most, Besa Gordon, and Erik Kalligraphy, for sharing your voices, and Kevin Garrett for the exceptional edit.
