Actions Speak Louder Than Words: Besa Gordon Talks Converge Media’s Support Black Businesses Campaign on Good Day Seattle

🚨Tune into Back2Besa this weekend to see the full story on Noir Lux Candle Bar🚨

Besa Gordon hit up Good Day Seattle to rep the Support Black Business campaign—something she and the whole Converge Media squad are serious about. During the segment, Besa talked about the struggles Black-owned businesses are facing. “It really started out earlier this year when we saw a lot of our Black-owned businesses going online and just talking about how they were having a hard time,” Besa shared. “Some were even going out of business. So our quick question was, what can we do to help?”

The game plan? Use Converge Media’s platform to put these businesses on the map and make sure they have the resources and visibility they need. One of the businesses that reached out was Noir Lux Candle Bar, a Black-owned candle-making business in Downtown Seattle. Besa, along with her Converge fam—Trae Holiday, DeAunte Damper, and T-Dub stopped by for a Black Busines Uplift, and to get into some team building.

The crew made custom candles, sipped cider and wine, and had a whole vibe while uplifting the business. The shop isn’t just about candles—it’s a hub for small Black vendors, carrying products exclusively from other Black-owned businesses.

Besa doesn’t just talk about supporting Black businesses—she lives it. She’s been making her rounds, hitting up Buddy’s Chicken and Waffles in Tacoma, Chop Chop West African Cuisine, Umami Kushi in South Seattle, and more. “I can’t say support Black business and not do it myself,” she said.

For Black-owned businesses looking for a boost, Besa is making it known—Converge Media is here to help. “If you are a Black-owned business and need some extra foot traffic, or if you’re just trying to get the word out, we really want to help you,” she said. The mission is simple: keep Black businesses thriving and make sure the community stays strong.
