Written by Besa Gordon - With Christmas being next week, I wanted to remind you of something really dope that occurred last month that will help you shop Black this Christmas season. On Black Friday, I pulled up to Métier Brewing Company in the #CentralDistrict as Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell proclaimed it "Black Black Friday" in partnership with Laura Clise of the Intentionalist, BECU, and DNA - Mayor Harrell emphasized the Black Black Card issued by BECU will give shoppers 20% back on their money loaded onto the card with the intention that they use the card to shop at Black businesses across the greater Seattle area. And what's really dope is the card has a 7-year expiration date, so it's not just for this holiday season. It's truly about shopping Black all year round.

While I was there, I got to catch up with Efrem Fesaha, the CEO of Boon Boona Coffee, who you may remember in the Back2Besa segment when Efrem showed me how to brew traditional Ethiopian coffee. I also talked with Marquita Evans, who is the founder of Intentions Juice Bar LLC. I recently went by there, and Marquita showed me the proper way to make a smoothie, a smoothie bowl, and avocado toast, which, now that I think about it, I'm going by there this week to get some more of that. Anywho, I also talked with Rodney Hines, the CEO of Metier, who you may remember not only giving me a lesson on beers but also hooked me up with a fire brunch from Umami Kushi.

Check out the segment to learn more about the Black Black Card and be sure to shop Black this season and all year round.

This segment originally aired on Back2Besa on December 2nd. You can see segments like this and more each Saturday on the show at 10:30 pm on FOX 13 Seattle and the replay Sunday at 10 am on FOX 13 +
