It was a good night to be at Climate Pledge Arena as our Seattle Kraken took on the New York Islanders on hockey fights cancer night. Not only did the Kraken pick up a 4-3 win in a shootout, but I linked up with a bunch of my friends at the arena and even made some new ones. It was a super dope night and I can’t wait until I pull up for another home game.

To document the night, I brought photographer Mat Bermudez from Drip Media. Check out what I did while I was there below:

First, I tapped in with my good sis and Kraken Executive Jr. Sous Chef Demetra Baldwin-Cooks (Photo Mat Bermudez - Drip Media)

Before the game, I got to head back to the kitchen where the entire Kraken dining staff was hard at work getting yummy meals and snacks ready for the night. If you've seen my 2023 Kraken food preview then you already know I’m a huge fan of the meals that come out of this kitchen.

Next, I made some new friends down by the ice (Photo Mat Bermudez - Drip Media)

I headed down to the ice to check out the vibes, and not only did I do that, but I also made some new friends! Bob (left) and Wayne (right). Turns out they’re huge fans of the show and it was such an honor to meet them. It’s always a pleasure when I can connect with people who support the things I do. Moments like this are always a highlight of my night.

I headed up to the play-by-play booth to hang out with the one and only Everett Fitzhugh and Al Kinisky (Photo Mat Bermudez - Drip Media)

After hanging out by the ice, it was time to warm up a little. So I went upstairs to say hi to the radio crew. It’s always a vibe in the radio booth with Everett and Al, and today was no different. Not only was the room filled with laughs but I even pointed out that I need to wear some heels next time I come in there because they always remind me of how short I am. Anywho, while in the radio room, I even got the scoop on what to watch for during the game.

Before the game, I tapped in with my friend DJ Trunks, the official DJ of the Seattle Kraken (Photo Mat Bermudez - Drip Media)

You know I had to link up with my wrestling buddy DJ Trunks. As the official DJ of the Kraken, Trunks sets the vibes for every home game and keeps the crowd on their feet. It’s always fun catching up with Trunks because not only do we talk about the Kraken, but we also talk about the latest wrestling matches.

Cancer affects us all, and this game was a reminder of that. It was Kraken Hockey Fights Cancer Night, and throughout the arena people remembered those we’ve lost, cheered on those currently fighting, and celebrated those who’ve beat cancer. It was a powerful night for sure.

Overall, this night was really dope and the purple lighting was a whole shmood! It was good to see all my Kraken fam and hopefully next time I will bump into my good buddies Bouy, Strawberry, and Angelica. Until the next game, Go Kraken!
