Besa Gordon Joins Hands With Emergency Feeding Program To Feed Unhoused In Pioneer Square
On Wednesday, the Emergency Feeding Program stopped by Occidental Park in Pioneer Square to provide their weekly meals, hygiene kits, and supplies to those in need. This week they were also joined by Lil’ Woody’s Burgers as well as Mod Pizza in their ongoing efforts to meet the daily needs of those living unhoused in the Pioneer Square areas.
Our Besa Gordon, host of Back2Besa on FOX13 as well as the nighttime host on HITS 106.1 FM joined the Emergency Feeding Program team in Occidental Park for an opportunity to give back to those most in need.
“When Karly Burke invited me to come down and lend a hand I was on my way,” said Gordon. “The least that I can do is bring some joy who might need a meal and a smile.”
After handing out meals and supplies, Gordon caught up with Dr. Ray Hampton, who is the S.O.S. Program Director at Emergency Feeding Program and directs the efforts at Occidental Park as well as several other locations across the Seattle area. You can catch the full interview with Dr. Hampton on the next episode of Back2Besa on Saturday, November 25th at 10:30 pm on FOX13 and Sunday at 10:00 am on FOX13+
Today, the Emergency Feeding Program is hosting its annual Food Giveaway in Skyway at the Holy Temple Evangelistic Center. Hosted in partnership with Tre Simmons and Jaebadiah Gardner of Gardner Global, the yearly event has become a staple of the holiday season, providing food and resources to those who need it most.
Emergency Feeding Program’s mission is to provide a nutritional response to people in need throughout King County, and they distribute over 600,000 meals per year.
