Chef Trey Lamont talks new spice rub and the importance of uplifting Black business

Last week we sat down with Chef Trey Lamont to discuss his new spice rub, flavors, supporting black business, and his “why not me?” approach to entrepreneurship. Lamont has partnered with Tom Douglas’s Rub with Love to launch a Jerk Spice Rub that has been flying off the shelves both online and in stores. Lamont is not only building his own business; he is actively building connections in the food world and uplifting other black Bussiness. As seen in his intentional choices around where he sources his ingredients and the alcohol he chooses to serve, Lamont walks to the walk. When discussing Lamon’s approach to not only sourcing from Black-Owned Bussiness but also introducing those products to other industry professionals, Lamont says, “I call them partners [referencing other Black Businesses] because I want to see them succeed. They are providing me with the product that is helping me succeed. So I’m willing to share that knowledge with other people.”

As the holiday season is upon us make sure to check Trey Lamont’s Jerk Spice Rub here
