Cherry Hall: A Beacon of Hope and Support in Our Community
Cherry Hall is more than just a building; it's a lifeline for many in our community struggling with addiction. As a recovery center for alcohol and drugs, Cherry Hall provides a safe haven where individuals can find support, fellowship, and guidance on their journey to sobriety.
"Cherry Hall is my home away from home," says Lisa Brooks, a Cherry Hall member. "Literally, when I leave work, I come to Cherry Hall. When I get up in the morning, I come to Cherry Hall."
For many, Cherry Hall is a last stop on the block, a place where they are accepted and embraced when all other doors have closed. Eric Riley, Head Chairperson at Cherry Hall, shares his own experience: "Myself, I'm in recovery, and I was accepted nowhere else, but here."
The impact of Cherry Hall extends far beyond individual recovery. It plays a vital role in strengthening our community by providing a space for healing and connection. Kelvin Avery, a Real Estate Broker and former Teacher, describes Cherry Hall as "the epicenter of how we stay sober around here." He emphasizes the importance of community support for Cherry Hall, stating, "We need the community to continue to support it. We need people to come and investigate it. We need federal dollars, state dollars, anything that we can get. We need support."
Cherry Hall's success stories are a testament to the power of community and the importance of providing a safe and supportive environment for those in recovery. As Charles Gooding, a Community Member, puts it, "It's not about getting your own and moving on. It's about continuing to be a beacon of hope and assistance to the newer members that come around here that are searching for a new way to live."
Cherry Hall is an invaluable asset to our community, providing hope, healing, and a sense of belonging to those who need it most. By supporting Cherry Hall, we are investing in the well-being of our community and helping to create a brighter future for all.
