Chukundi Salisbury Jr. on his journey to Howard University and Future Aspirations

Recent high school graduate and Converge Media production intern Chukundi Salisbury Jr. appeared on "The Day with Trae" to discuss his acceptance to Howard University and his aspirations for the future. Salisbury, who will attend Howard in the fall, expressed his excitement about becoming a "baby bison" and shared his experiences visiting the campus and participating in freshman orientation events.

Salisbury also discussed his participation in a college tour with UNCF, during which he visited several historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Georgia area. He emphasized the importance of HBCUs in fostering Black excellence and his desire to bring resources and opportunities back to Seattle to create a similar environment.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Salisbury shared his interests in broadcasting and computer engineering. He spoke about his experience in a high school broadcasting class and his desire to use his skills to tell stories and amplify Black voices in STEM fields. Salisbury also mentioned his aspirations to become a DJ and entrepreneur.

Throughout the interview, Salisbury emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with positive influences and having a strong support system. He credited his parents and friends for their unwavering support and guidance.

As Salisbury embarks on this new chapter in his life, he is sure to make a positive impact on the Howard community and beyond. His passion for education, technology, and community engagement is evident, and his future is bright.
