From Red Carpets to Commissioner's Cups: Besa Gordon's Baseball Odyssey

Written by: Besa Gordon - Yesterday was officially #OpeningDay for Major League Baseball, and let me tell you, friend. Your girl lived her best life last year. If I were to be really honest, last year has to be my favorite baseball season yet. For starters, I was the official red carpet host for All-Stars in 2023; I took over T-Mobile Park with Bookie Gates from Baseball Beyond Borders to do a whole commercial for the HBCU swingman classic. Speaking of Swingman, I feel for anyone that didn’t make it to that game. To me, this was more than just a match on the field; it was like a full-on reunion in the ballpark. If you were there, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.

For the first time, I attended MLB press conferences, where I interviewed legendary baseball players like Mike Cameron. I also went to my first-ever Mariners food preview and got to meet T-Mobile Park’s Executive Chef, Chef Javier Rosa, who definitely fed me well then and still does to this day.

Our cameras were even there when the Mariners JP and TY told ball players from across the region they were going to be the first to represent the city of Seattle in the Commissioners Cup. Talk about #Epic.

All in all, as I said, last year’s baseball season was literally my favorite yet. I really did live my best life and got the ultimate baseball experience. I didn’t even mention the time, and my Converge Media fam and I took over Pier 62 for a week as we all geared up for the HBCU Swingman Classic. It was a whole shmood.

Anywhoots, as we step into the ballpark this week, one, if you see me, make sure you say, “Hey, how you doin’? Hope you doin’ mighty fine” so we can get a selfie. Two, when you go into the ballpark or when you’re at your baseball watch party, take a moment to soak in the vibes of baseball being back. IDK about you, but I can’t wait to see what memories I get to create with the baseball community this season. Welcome back, baseball #TridentsUp

Do you have a favorite memory from last season?
