#HispanicHeritageMonth - KOLORS Studios Makes Space for Black and Brown Creators in Seattle

“We want to empower the Black and Brown community that’s in the production space by giving them the tools to create content.” - Armando Garzon, Founder of KOLORS Studios.

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Besa Gordon tapped in with founder Armando Garzon at KOLORS Studios in Pioneer Square, where he’s outfitted a historic building with everything from recording studios, video equipment, office space, podcast studios, and more. Garzon’s mission is to create space for Black and Brown creatives in the Emerald City, providing the resources they need to reach their goals.

He spoke about his challenges getting into the production space and how that inspired him to make it easier for others to chase their dreams.

“There was a lot of obstacles that were in place,” Garzon. “KOLORS Studios is a place you can come and feel welcomed, and be around other people who are doing the same thing you are.”

Garzon founded KOLORS three years ago during the pandemic, and has been consistently growing ever since.

“It was incredible. The moment that I got the space and started meeting more people in Seattle was amazing,” Garzon said. “From there, it was about how big could we get it.”

KOLORS is creating space and incubating the next generation of creative minds and businesses. A membership at KOLORS includes access to different production spaces, equipment and many more perks.

“We want to make it easier for the next generation and keep those doors open,” Garzon said.

Garzon also runs KOLORS as a creative agency and production company, bringing his expertise to all facets of the media game.
