My Vaccine Story: Adra Boo Vaccine Stories Jul 16 Written By Omari Salisbury “I'm affectionate. I want to hug people, I'm a hugger. I just want to make sure that other people feel okay to just be around me, when we're just in the same room, even if it's just us bumping elbows, I just want people to feel safe with me.” “It was really just for my own sanity, I thought about it. I also was like, I don't know if I should. But, you know, I want to be able to embrace the people close to me. And so it just was a good thing for me.” “I got vaccinated because of two reasons really. One was to be able to see my partner’s parents. They are in that age range where they’re really susceptible to get it. And my partner, her parents hadn’t been doing so well. And we wanted to be able to go and spend some time with them and just like just to be able to check on them, and feel okay about that. And so that was like the bigger proponent. And the second is, I work with this organization that works with youth and adults. And so it just kind of made sense to just take care of it. And you know, that way, at least once we start to get back into doing things how we used to, then I feel like, okay, I’ve done something for myself to just be prepared.” — Adra Boo Omari Salisbury Founder & COO, Converge Media Please donate to support independent media and citizen journalism.
