NBA Champion Channing Frye Offers Advice for Those Looking to Start A Business During National Black Business Month

“My pieces of advice would be to come in with humility, enjoy your passion, and be ready to work,” NBA Champion Channing Frye said.

Frye, who now owns Chosen Family Wines in Portland, Oregon, spoke with Besa Gordon during #NationalBlackBusinessMonth to offer his wisdom and advice to individuals looking to break into an industry. He emphasized the importance of being ready to learn and adapt in an ever-changing marketplace.

“People adjust, and you need to always be thinking about your customer and what they like,” Frye said.

His other tips included finding ways to love what you do, being ready to work, and seeking mentorship where possible. You can hear more advice in the video.
