Seattle Coffee Vibes: Why Besa Gordon Says The Station Coffee Shop in Columbia City Is Worth the Visit
By Besa Gordon - ☕ #SupportBlackBusiness Coffee lovers, this one’s for you! Let's talk about The Station Coffee Shop, a Black and Latino-owned gem in Seattle's Columbia City—literally right across from the light rail 🚆. You might recognize this spot from Back2Besa when we highlighted 3 Black-owned coffee shops, and trust me, it's STILL a whole vibe.
Not only is their coffee 🔥, but they’ve got healthy food options, cozy spaces to work or chill (yes, the couch is as comfy as it looks 😌), and even tasty sandwiches and pastries to fuel your day.
✨ A few fun facts about The Station:
☕ This is their second location—the first one’s in Beacon Hill
🗓 Open 7 days a week
💻 Free WiFi (work-from-coffee-shop goals)
🥂 Non-alcoholic rose + brut bubblies
🎤 Event space for poetry readings, book meet-ups, and more
📌 Community wall for promoting your biz or events
🖤 They accept the Buy Black Card by Intentionalist
I even got to catch up with the owners, Liona and Luis Rodriguez, who’ve been a vibe since I met them back in 2020. The whole atmosphere is super inviting, the people are kind (shoutout to the sweet barista who helped me out and joined my reel!), and the artwork? Next level. 🎨
If you’re looking for a new spot with great coffee, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and a chill workspace with free WiFi, pull up! The light rail will drop you off right across the street.
