Sunrise in Belize

When we arrived at Placencia village on the southern Caribbean coast of Belize that cover of night was already over us. As we traveled a good 3 hours across the country we could barely make out a variety of different terrains and scenery. When we finally arrived it was too dark to fully take in the ocean or beach, we all made our way to our hotel rooms. I was caught in wonder when I woke up to catch the sunrise with the colors and lush coastal beach. I sat in the sand and listened to the waves as the sky turned into a range of pinks illuminating the gorgeous beaches of ​​Placencia. My first sunrise here in Belize seems a beautiful omen of the many wonderful people and stories that await us here in Belize. Although it hasn’t even been a full day I am already awed at the great kindness and hospitality we have experienced from the people we have met thus far.
