The Maldonado Brothers joined The Day With Trae to talk about their journey and Mediums Collective

Roger and Cesar Maldonado of Mediums Collective joined Trae Holiday to talk about their clothing company Mediums Collective and their journey to success.

Roger said he never saw himself having a career in fashion, but is grateful for where his style has taken him.

“I was never like the best dressed, my intention wasn’t to start a clothing brand,” Roger said. “I’ve always been super creative, and it’s just sort of become my outlet for that. I love details, and that’s where it sort of came from.”

The brothers have been building connections and energy around their brand since college. They also have maintained their strong family ties throughout their journey.

“We found ourselves in this realm, and realized that we’re very good at being able to adapt ourselves in different environments,” Cesar said. "It comes down to a specific value which we hold dearly, which is that family is the number one thing. We were raised to think of ourselves as well as others.”

“We’ve always been very community and family focused,” Roger said. “I think we did that in a very natural and organic way. We love bringing people and communities together.”

The designs themselves are a big piece of their community influence. The authenticity and creativity their clothes are based in resonates with a broad audience.

“When I design, I design based on my feelings at the specific moment,” Roger said. “I feel like they’ve always had a deeper meaning and the realness gravitates towards people.”

Both brothers also credited their mother with having a crucial role in their success.

“Our mom raised us to be entrepreneurs,” Cesar said. “She would dress us up in nice kids clothes, and without her knowing she influenced others to dress their kids like how we were dressed.”
