Monday

Kathleen Hosfeld, the Executive Director of Homestead Community Land Trust, will discuss the innovative ways that land trusts are addressing housing affordability and Homestead’s upcoming Conversation with Isabel Wilkerson event. 

Bruce Jackson will delve into Washington Ethnic Studies Now's inspiring work, highlighting the importance of ethnic studies in schools and the organization's efforts to create inclusive curricula and frameworks. He will also discuss the challenges faced in promoting ethnic studies and how Washington Ethnic Studies Now is working to overcome them.

Tuesday

Jeff Dade will share his journey into housing and community economic development, emphasizing the importance of addressing racial disparities in the financial realm. He will also discuss his role at Homestead Community Land Trust and the upcoming event with Isabel Wilkerson, which will explore the historical and systemic roots of inequality in America.

Tye Reed, the co-founder of House Our Neighbors, will discuss the urgent need for social housing solutions in Seattle and how community engagement can drive change.


Wednesday

Michelle Lang-Raymond from Acts On Stage discusses her work with the Teen Summer Musical program. This year's production, "Snow Whyte & The Seven Each One Teach One," features 73 talented young performers, all showcasing their incredible skills at Benaroya Hall from August 23-25. 


Willis Walker will highlight the importance of community and brotherhood in promoting Black men's health and wellness through his involvement with Black Men Run Seattle. He will also discuss a historic run planned for August 11th, starting at First AME Church.

SassyBlack: A super talented musician known for her unique blend of genres tells us all about her upcoming electrifying SassyBlack 10year anniversary concert at Madame Lou’s on August 8th. 

Nate Schultz, a gifted artist, discusses the dedication and commitment behind his incredible artwork and shares his journey as a self-taught creative.

Friday

Cory McCall, a co-founder of Black Men Run Seattle, will discuss the organization's mission to improve Black men's health through running and community support and also preview an upcoming family-friendly run on August 18th between The Station coffee houses in Beacon Hill and Columbia City.
