Sounders embark on 2023 journey with commanding victory against Rapids
The Seattle Sounders opened up their 2023 campaign with a resounding four goal victory over Western Conference opponent Colorado Rapids, in front of their home crowd at Lumen Field. Seattle got scoring contributions from Jordan Morris, Cristian Roldan, and Heber while keeper Stefan Frei recorded a clean sheet.
Maple Leafs trounce flailing Kraken, 5-1 as Seattle continues to fall in standings
Ending their home schedule in the month of February, the Seattle Kraken were thoroughly dominated by the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 5-1 dismantling. The Kraken scored the first goal of the night early, but that only seemed to awaken the visiting Maple Leafs.
Kraken battle hard, fall just short of season sweep over big bad Bruins in 6-5 loss
In an epic rematch of their January 12th thriller, the Seattle Kraken and Boston Bruins traded heavy blows all night long. Ultimately, Boston was able to take advantage of Seattle’s mistakes enough to edge the upstart Kraken.
Kraken able to make timely plays in 4-2 victory over soaring Red Wings
The Seattle Kraken, on the night that they hosted Black Hockey History night and “Dad/mentor trip” weekend, ended the Detroit Red Wings’ five-game win streak. Seattle was able to make the timely plays to beat a hot Detroit team, and notch the 32nd win of the season for the Kraken.
Kraken don’t show Flyers any brotherly love in 6-2 blowout
In their second meeting in the past three games between these two franchises, the Seattle Kraken again proved victorious over the Philadelphia Flyers, this time in blowout fashion.
Mariners building strong lineup in the SoDo region with “The Boxyard”
Right next door to Hatback Bar & Grille and Steelheads Alley, the Seattle Mariners announced an expansion of the current complex to create the “Boxyard.” The building will host the two current entities as well as “Victory Hall,” a gathering spot for games and other occasions, as well as an EL1 Sports + Mariners Training Center.
Sounders remain unpolished in final third, as late goal spells defeat against Al Ahly SC in the Club World Cup
In a historic match for Seattle, the Sounders were unable to finish their chances in the final third against Al Ahly SC. Seattle’s run in the Club World Cup ends after their first match, but there were some positives to take away from the match such as the return of Joao Paulo.

On Wednesday, February 1st, the Seattle Mariners held their Pre-Spring Training media event. Various front office members, coaches, and players spoke to the local media about things such as promotions, the 2023 All-Star week, player updates, this upcoming season, and much more.
Growing the game with everyone in mind: EL1 and the Mariners collaborate to launch the “Mariners Training Center”
During the Mariners’ Pre-Spring Training Media Event the organization announced that in partnership with EL1, they were launching the “Mariners Training Center.” Spanning five of EL1’s facilities across the state of Washington, the goal of this collaboration is to expand equitable access and participation in youth baseball and softball.
Kraken dismantle Bluejackets in 3-1 victory to head into All-Star break on a high note
In their final game before the All-Star break, the Seattle Kraken were able to handily dismantle the Columbus Blue Jackets. Resulting in a 3-1 score, Seattle hardly ever had resistance to manage as the Kraken got scoring contributions from Morgan Geekie, Alex Wennberg, and Eeli Tolvanen while Philipp Grubauer was again solid in net.

Eeli Tolvanen continues to navigate pacific waters as the newest addition to the NHL’s youngest franchise
Eeli Tolvanen has struggled in his somewhat young hockey career to be put in a position for success. Since being claimed off of waivers by the Seattle Kraken, the Finnish forward seems to be establishing himself and his signature heavy shot.
Kraken Super Skills Showcase year two; Team Driedger takes home the victory in another successful event
In the second annual Seattle Kraken Super Skills Showcase, Seattle’s NHL team gave a great crowd inside of Climate Pledge Arena a show as they competed in several fun filled events. Fans, whether they were witnessing the team for the first time or not, got to see a laid back side of the Kraken.
Kraken unable to fully summit against Avalanche, falling in overtime shootout
A playoff-like atmosphere filled Climate Pledge Arena as the Seattle Kraken played host to the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche. Colorado and Seattle battled hard, trading near miss opportunity through three periods and overtime, but the Kraken ultimately succumbed to the Avalanche in a shootout.
Kraken dance with the Devil(s), escaping a cryptid clash with a 4-3 overtime victory
In another battle with one of the NHL’s top teams, the Seattle Kraken yet again came out victorious as the New Jersey Devils entered the deep for a battle of the cryptids. Kraken forward Ryan Donato lead the way with two goals, before Andre Burakovsky nailed the game winner in overtime.
Sounders lock up three locally grown players in Cristian Roldan, Danny Leyva, and Jordan Morris
The Seattle Sounders FC locked up three key key players to long term extensions, all three of them locally grown either in the state of Washington or through the clubs academy. Cristian Roldan, Danny Leyva, and Jordan Morris all received extensions from Seattle under general manager Craig Waibel.
