Ahead of #ConvergeSuperSaturday and the special airing of Converge Media’s Emmy-nominated film Reconciliation Tour on Saturday, October 26th at 9:30 pm on FOX 13 Seattle, Baseball Beyond Borders Founder Bookie Gates and Mariners Director of Community Relations Nova Newcomer joined Washington Sports Wrap host Alyssa Charlston to discuss the film and it’s impact. They spoke about the importance of baseball and the ways they’ve worked both individually and together the open doors and provide opportunities for youth of all backgrounds to participate.

We’re throwing it back to an unforgettable evening in 2022 when we witnessed the magic of community, connection, and the spirit of baseball at the premiere of Reconciliation Tour—Converge Media's Emmy-nominated short film which follows the journey of Baseball Beyond Borders players through the South. The event took place at T-Mobile Park’s Ellis Pavilion, where members of Baseball Beyond Borders (BBB) and supporters gathered to relive the powerful journey taken by the 18u all-star team over that summer.

Join us on Saturday, October 19th for a special airing of our Emmy-Nominated film Reconciliation Tour on FOX 13 Seattle at 9:30 pm. The film follows the journey of players from Baseball Beyond Borders as they travel through the South on a voyage of baseball, civil rights, and reconciliation.

One year following an impactful and memorable trip to the South, Converge Media has returned to Mississippi alongside Baseball Beyond Borders for a second year. This year, we’re excited to dive further into the stories of the youth in the city, showcasing what makes their community special as well as the impact of baseball. Baseball Beyond Borders and Converge Media Release 'Reconciliation Tour’ Documentary
Baseball Beyond Borders (BBB), Seattle’s sports-based community development organization, released its first documentary film, “Reconciliation Tour.” The documentary takes a powerful journey through the heart of the south, including youth baseball, civil rights, and reconciliation. The film’s message centers on truth, hope, play, and healing through baseball.
Growing the game with everyone in mind: EL1 and the Mariners collaborate to launch the “Mariners Training Center”
During the Mariners’ Pre-Spring Training Media Event the organization announced that in partnership with EL1, they were launching the “Mariners Training Center.” Spanning five of EL1’s facilities across the state of Washington, the goal of this collaboration is to expand equitable access and participation in youth baseball and softball.

Full Circle: Reconciliation Tour premieres at T-Mobile Park
Converge Media’s latest short film Reconciliation Tour premiered on Tuesday at T-Mobile Park’s Ellis Pavilion in a special event featuring Baseball Beyond Borders community members and supporters. The film documents a journey through the south taken by BBB’s 18u all-star team earlier this summer, with stops in Jackson, Mississippi and Selma and Montgomery, Alabama. Reconciliation Tour set to premiere tomorrow at T-Mobile Park’s Ellis Pavillion
Converge Media’s latest short film Reconciliation Tour will premiere tomorrow afternoon at T-Mobile Park. The film chronicles the journey of Baseball Beyond Borders through the South, following the Seattle Kings 18u All Stars as they coach the youth in Jackson, Mississippi and engage with history and culture in Selma and Montgomery, Alabama. Converge produced a film which showcases both the connection with the youth and the way the team engaged with the history of America in ways they had never before experienced.
Reconciliation Tour set for T-Mobile Park Premiere
Not long ago, Baseball Beyond Borders took a powerful, eye opening journey through the heart of the south which included baseball, civil rights and reconciliation. It featured a baseball clinic, tour of a Historically Black College/University - Jackson State U - and a trip to Montgomery AL by way of Edmunds Pettis Bridge, to visit the Equal Justice Initiative Museum and Memorial. We were accompanied by a host of friends and allies to find serenity in a sport and preserve the cultural legacy.
Baseball Beyond Borders Kings represent Seattle in RBI West Region Senior Baseball Tournament
The Baseball Beyond Borders 18u Senior Division All-Star Team travelled to Compton to represent Seattle in the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) West Region Senior Baseball Tournament. The team put up a strong showing, including an 11-6 victory over Colorado Rockies RBI on Saturday morning. Despite being eliminated after the first two days, it was a great experience and a fun trip.
Reconciliation Tour: Converge Media’s new film on Baseball, Civil Rights, and Equality
Converge Media presents the trailer for Reconciliation Tour, a soon to be released short film that documents Seattle’s Baseball Beyond Borders Kings’ eye opening journey through the “Heart of the South” to Jackson, Mississippi and Montgomery, Alabama; a journey which included baseball, civil rights, and reconciliation.
Baseball, Civil Rights and Reconciliation: Day 4 (Montgomery, Alabama)
Day four of the Baseball Beyond Borders trip through the South was one of the most impactful. The team visited the Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacy Museum, which tells the story of slavery in great detail as well as the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, which lists the names of individuals who were lynched throughout American history. They also were graced by the presence of Anthony Ray Hinton, who spent 30 years on death row for a crime he did not commit. Hinton spoke about forgiveness and love, a powerful message made more poignant by his experiences.
Baseball, Civil Rights and Reconciliation: Day 3 (Selma & Montgomery, Alabama)
Day 3 of the Baseball Beyond Borders trip through the South took us out of Jackson, Mississippi and moved East to Alabama. After a quick stop in downtown Jackson, we hit the road. A stop in Selma took brought us to the Edmund Pettus Bridge, the site of Bloody Sunday as well as other famous marches. We then travelled to Montgomery, where the team watched a Montgomery Biscuits game (the AA affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays).
Baseball, Civil Rights and Reconciliation: Day 2 (Jackson, Mississippi)
Today brought the second and final day of the camp, which featured a 60-yard dash and a whiffle ball game in the outfield. Campers and players built on relationships formed on day one, bonding over the shared experience of baseball.
“It’s really amazing to see,” Mariners Legend Dan Wilson said. “You can see how much fun everyone is having.”
Baseball, Civil Rights and Reconciliation: Day 1 (Jackson, Mississippi)
Seattle’s own Baseball Beyond Borders kicked off a four-day trip through the South, beginning with a youth baseball clinic in Jackson, Mississippi. Hosted at Jackson State University in association with the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation, the clinic brought kids aged 9-18 to learn from the Baseball Beyond Borders Senior Division All-Star Team.
