Angela Moorer and the King County Reparations Project
Meet Angela Moorer, a multimedia storyteller and public relations consultant based in Seattle, Washington. With a passion for inspiring systemic change, Angela centers her work on amplifying the voices of institutionally underserved and historically marginalized communities. Her expertise spans video production, writing, public relations, and documentary filmmaking, supporting nonprofits and community organizations in addressing critical social issues. As the Lead Producer of the Cascade PBS Creative Works department, Angela uses her trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive approach to create impactful content that resonates with diverse audiences.
Angela stopped by The Day With Trae to discuss the King County Reparations Project, a documentary she is directing that investigates the housing displacement of African Americans in Seattle's Central District and South End. With a BA in Communications and Political Science from the University of Washington and currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Visual Anthropology and Documentary Practices from the University of Münster, Angela combines academic insight and professional expertise in her work. In addition to her documentary endeavors, she enjoys performing live music as the vocalist of the neo-soul duo Ava Blue.
