Blaze Vincent and "Centering Voices with Blaze" on Rainier Radio

Meet Blaze Vincent, who, at the age of 17, was tried as an adult and convicted of Attempted Murder and Assault, receiving a sentence of 30 years and six months. Following the Washington State Supreme Court’s decision in State v. Blake, Blaze was resentenced and released in 2022 after serving 18 years. The judge acknowledged Blaze's leadership and commitment to service, deeming him more valuable to society outside of prison.

During his incarceration, Blaze transformed into a peer mentor and community advocate. He earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Management with a 3.8 GPA, a paralegal diploma, and awards from Toastmasters International. Blaze also served as Vice President of the Harbor Lights Toastmasters club, facilitated the Black Prisoners Caucus legislative committee, and contributed to Kids are Kids, a grassroots organization aimed at abolishing juvenile trials as adults.

Blaze stopped by The Day With Trae to discuss his show ‘Centering Voices with Blaze’ on Rainier Avenue Radio. He is currently a paralegal at the Seattle Clemency Project and serves as President and Interim Executive Director of Freedom Project. Alongside his wife, Dyneeca, and with strong support from his family, friends, and community, Blaze continues his lifelong commitment to service and advocacy.
