Josalyn Ford on Community, Purpose, and the Urban League's 23rd Annual Breakfast

Josalyn Ford, Chief Advancement Officer at the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, joined guest host Deaunte Damper on The Day With Trae to discuss the Urban League's upcoming 23rd Annual Breakfast on November 22nd and the importance of community engagement.

"Representation also means that we have people who understand the work of the mission and can be our advocates," Ford emphasized, highlighting the Urban League's commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment within the community. She also spoke passionately about the need to move beyond tokenism in fundraising, stating, "I don't want any other family or any other individual who has been marginalized to ever experience the idea or even the concept of coming into a space and someone thinking they saved them."

The Urban League's Annual Breakfast, featuring a special guest appearance by Taraji P. Henson, promises to be an unforgettable event celebrating community, purpose, and care. You can click here for tickets: https://urbanleague.org/
