Little Venom's Alaia D'Alessandro: The Creative Force Behind Converge Media's Production
Trae Holiday recently interviewed Alaia D’Alessandro, the head of production at Converge Media and member of the band Little Venom, on The Day with Trae. D’Alessandro shared her experiences in music production and the importance of adaptability in her work.
D’Alessandro’s background includes working as a producer at KEXP for eight years, where she filmed bands globally. She also worked as a video editor at the University of Washington and majored in Comparative History of Ideas. These experiences, along with her music documentaries, helped shape her hands-on approach to production.
D'Alessandro emphasized the importance of both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in production. She finds that troubleshooting and adapting to different environments are crucial skills in her field.
In her role at Converge Media, D'Alessandro has been instrumental in reformatting the Black Media Matters studios. She focuses on utilizing the natural light and tones of the space to enhance visual appeal and create a flexible environment for guests.
D'Alessandro is also a part of the band Little Venom, where she plays guitar and sings. The band has an upcoming U.S. tour and plans to tour Mexico soon. D'Alessandro enjoys the creative outlet that music provides, contrasting with the analytical and logistical aspects of her production work.
