Marcia Jones: Championing Diversity in the Wine Industry

Marcia Jones is a Social Winepreneur and the founder of Urban Connoisseurs, LLC. With a 30-year career marked by strong business relationships and successful negotiations, Marcia has dedicated the past 12 years to increasing diversity in the wine industry. Urban Connoisseurs focuses on supporting Black winemakers, creating opportunities for aspiring professionals, and preserving the legacies of established brands. The organization achieves these goals through various initiatives, including promoting sustainable practices, facilitating collaboration and mentorship, and working with HBCUs to introduce students to the industry.


 Marcia also acts as a wine consultant, orchestrating partnerships and curating events that showcase Black winemakers. Her current projects include a documentary, a book, and a scholarship fund, all aimed at promoting diversity and empowering the next generation of wine professionals.
