Marshall Hugh Talks Marshall Law Band and Fremont Fridays on The Day With Trae

Marshall Hugh is a multi-talented artist making waves in Seattle and beyond. Known as the frontman of the Marshall Law Band, Hugh's influence extends far beyond the stage.

Hugh's music career began after a successful athletic stint, including being the first athlete to play both basketball and football at Carnegie Mellon University. Since then, the Marshall Law Band has performed over 300 shows and was set for a national tour in 2020 before COVID-19 hit.

In the wake of George Floyd's murder, Hugh and the band used their platform for social change, hosting rallies and educational programming at their shows. They later encapsulated this experience in the album "12th & Pine," produced by Grammy Award-winning Jack Endino.

Hugh is deeply committed to his community. He serves as an advocate and spokesperson for Bloodworks Northwest, raising awareness about the need for blood donations in the Pacific Northwest.

He is also the founder and director of Fremont Fridays, a free weekly summer festival showcasing regional artists and vendors. Now in its fourth year, Fremont Fridays aims to make the music scene accessible to all.

Hugh's work has been featured in numerous media outlets, including the Seattle Times, TEDx Seattle, BBC Arts Hour, The Stranger, and Converge Media. He has also appeared on KEXP, KUOW, King 5, CNN, and Fox News.

Marshall Hugh is more than just a musician. He is an activist, a community leader, and a visionary. Through his music and his actions, he inspires change and brings people together.
