Shakasis (Qen Ammsa Nut) - Little Kamit Books

Meet Shakasis, also known as Mut Qen Ammsa Nut Sadiki, is an immensely talented artist and educator hailing from Saint Lucia but raised in the vibrant neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. With a remarkable career spanning over two decades, Shakasis has dedicated herself to nurturing young artistic minds. An accomplished Author of "Kamit: The Story of Ausar and Auset," Shakasis is also celebrated as a poet, playwright, and Hip Hop artist.

Her creative genius extends to being the driving force behind Little Kamit Books, Shakafly Brooklyn, AfroVegan NYC, and Co-Writer and Director of the impactful play "Mango." Deeply rooted in the Ausarian tradition, she seamlessly infuses Kamitic culture into every aspect of her work. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Shakasis is a devoted mother of three and a loving wife.

Keep an eye out for her highly anticipated album, "Divine Beings," set to release in the fall of 2024. In addition, she has several exciting book projects on the horizon, including "Nuarisms" and "Satepra - What’s In a Name," paying homage to her daughters, as well as "The Ausarian Child," focusing on imparting Ausarian teachings and traditions to children.

Shakasis continues to make a profound impact on her community as a Theatre Instructor at Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy. Currently residing in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn with her husband and three children, Shakasis remains an integral part of her vibrant neighborhood.
