Besa Gordon Uplifts Black College Expo on Good Day Seattle

Besa Gordon recently joined FOX 13 Seattle's Good Day Seattle to talk about the 7th Annual Seattle Black College Expo at Rainier Beach High School. With over 50 historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), as well as other schools and programs, the expo provided endless opportunities for students looking to shape their futures.

On the show, Besa shared, "What was really great about it this year is that not only did they have seniors coming in to check out these different Black colleges, but they also had ninth graders in there. These ninth graders were like, 'Look, I’m trying to be in the room. I’m trying to learn. I’m trying to figure out what college I want to go to. I don’t want to wait until the last minute.' And they were extremely excited to be there. No one had to drag them in at all.”

The Seattle Black College Expo serves as a vital resource for students to explore their options, connect with opportunities, and get inspired to dream big. As Besa encouraged viewers, “If you haven’t checked it out yet, mark your calendars for next year. It’s a life-changing experience for so many students, and a huge shoutout to everyone who made it happen!”
