Yesterday, Besa Gordon made her weekly stop by Good Day Seattle and caught up with Erin Mayovsky. This week, she shined a spotlight on a project that’s transforming local communities: the Northwest Credible Messenger’s Barber & Beauty Shop Behavioral Health Project in partnership with the Community Reinvestment Project and the Washington State Department of Commerce.
Besa Gordon made her weekly guest appearance on Good Day Seattle to spotlight the highly anticipated grand opening of Ai House, a new Ai startup incubator located at Pier 70 on the Seattle Waterfront.
During her segment with host Bill Wixey, Besa described Ai House as more than just a tech hub—it’s a space built with purpose. Backed by the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development, Washington State Department of Commerce, Ada Developers Academy, and AI2 Incubator, the Ai House was designed to foster innovation and bring diversity to the forefront of artificial intelligence.
Besa highlighted the work of Ada Developers Academy, which has helped more than 1,300 women in the Seattle area launch successful careers in tech and AI. She also introduced viewers to Yoodli.Ai, an AI-powered communication tool that helps people improve their public speaking and reduce filler words—something Besa personally tested and found extremely helpful.
What stood out most in her appearance was the focus on inclusion. Besa pointed out how representation in AI isn’t just about fairness—it’s about making better, more usable technology for everyone. “We’ve all had that moment where a soap dispenser doesn’t recognize your hand… Well at least I have” she shared. “But it’s not because it didn’t want to work, It’s because someone who looks like me wasn’t part of the testing process.”
Her full coverage of the AI House grand opening will air on this weekend’s Back2Besa episode—Saturday at 10:30 p.m. on FOX 13 and Sunday at 10 a.m. on FOX 13+. The episode will also be available for streaming anytime on the FOX Local app.
For Besa, AI House represents a turning point in how Seattle embraces tech—with innovation, intention, and community at the center.
