Earlier this month, Seattle's Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute was alive with the energy and rhythm of Kutt N' Up's 20th-anniversary celebration. It was an incredible night filled with electrifying performances, heartfelt stories, and a powerful sense of community.

Co-founders Dwayne Jackson and Koach Giggz (Koach Crosby) shared their inspiring journey, reflecting on the profound impact Kutt N' Up has had on countless lives. Koach reminded us that "it's about the training of being a good person, and we just use dance to get and keep people's attention."  Dwayne emphasized the strong sense of family, stating, "Kutt N' Up is definitely...family outside of your bloodline."

Kutt N' Up has impacted the lives of young people in Seattle by:

• Providing a safe and supportive space for self-expression, discipline, and personal development.

• Fostering a strong sense of community and belonging.

• Helping young people develop character and learn valuable life skills.

• Nurturing individual talent and providing opportunities for growth.

• Contributing to Seattle's vibrant dance scene and elevating the city's dance culture.

After two decades of inspiring dance, fostering community, and shaping lives, Kutt N' Up is winding down. The organization's legacy, however, is far from over. The impact of Kutt N' Up will continue to be felt for generations to come, and its founders are hopeful that other organizations will rise to carry the torch.

For 20 years, Kutt N' Up has been a beacon of hope, a space for self-expression, and a source of inspiration for countless young people in Seattle. As we celebrate this incredible journey, we extend our deepest gratitude to the founders, dancers, and community members who have made Kutt N' Up so special.

As Koach said, "We love y'all. Thank you all for the love. Support. For 20 years, it has been amazing Kutt N’ Up, baby." Though Kutt N' Up's physical presence may be coming to an end, its spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all those it has touched.
