Jazzmin Barrett Performs her Poem “Worth It” at STG’s Elevate 2024

Seattle Theatre Group’s Elevate is a transformative annual program, now four years in the making, that empowers young artists to find their voice and express themselves through spoken word. Each year, Elevate provides a platform for talented young performers to showcase their skills, share their stories, and connect with their community. Converge Media has been a proud partner of STG Elevate since its inception, and Back2Besa is honored to continue this tradition of uplifting youth voices.

This year’s event was held at Seattle’s Neptune Theatre, and today, we‘re shinning a spotlight on Jazzmin Barrett who performed her poem “Worth It.” Jazzmin is an 18-year-old aspiring spoken word artist, songwriter, dancer, mentor, and a dedicated alumna of the Elevate program. Jazamine has been with Elevate for four years, and her journey is a testament to the program's impact. Her performances and mentorship have not only showcased her own growth but have also inspired younger participants to pursue their passions.

Elevate continues to be an, important platform for young artists to express their emotions and talents through spoken word. It nurtures creativity and provides a supportive community for artists to develop their skills. The program's impact is evident in the confident and expressive performances of its participants.

As Elevate looks forward to its fifth year, registrations for the new cohort will open in the fall. This is an exciting opportunity for young artists to join a vibrant community and take their first steps towards artistic expression and personal growth.
