The WOW Gallery was filled with joy and laughter on Juneteenth as Black women from all walks of life came together for a special brunch celebration. The event, organized by Veronica Very, founder of Wonder of Women, was a day of remembrance, empowerment, and sisterhood.

Very, a passionate advocate for Black women and girls, reminded attendees of the significance of Juneteenth. "It's a day of knowing," she emphasized. "We need to remember our power and remember that we are free."

Too often, Black women feel invisible, unheard, and misunderstood. Their stories are often told by others, shaping a narrative that doesn't reflect the reality of their lives. Very urged attendees to reclaim their narratives and celebrate their achievements.

"Juneteenth is a day of knowing," Very continued. "Some folks didn't know they were free. They didn't get the message. We didn't have social media back then. So we had to tell our story in order for us to get the message. 'Oh, no, you're free. You're liberated.' So you have to remember to remember that, and that's what Juneteenth is all about."

The brunch also featured a panel discussion with four successful Black women entrepreneurs. They shared their stories of triumph over adversity, offering inspiration and guidance to aspiring businesswomen.

The event was a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and beauty of Black women. It was a day to celebrate their freedom, their achievements, and their sisterhood.
