Angela Moorer, a multimedia storyteller and public relations consultant based in Seattle, Washington, was recently interviewed on The Day With Trae by host Trae Holiday. Moorer is the Lead Producer of the Cascade PBS Creative Works department and is deeply committed to amplifying the voices of historically marginalized communities, a mission that has a profound impact on the communities she serves.

During the interview, Moorer discussed her background in nonprofit media and her work with organizations like the ACLU of Washington and the African American Museum. She also spoke about her current role at Cascade PBS Creative Works, where she helps nonprofits and community organizations create impactful content.

The interview's main focus was the King County Reparations Project, a critically important documentary that Moorer is directing. The film investigates the housing displacement of African Americans in Seattle's Central District and South End, examining five different policy areas that have contributed to this displacement: redlining, federal urban renewal, subprime lending, regressive tax policy, and Weed and Seed abatement laws.

Moorer and her team have already developed a 40-minute proof-of-concept film, but they are now looking to connect with more community members to gather additional stories and raise funds to continue their work. The project's goal is to make a compelling case for reparations by highlighting the specific policies that have harmed Black communities and sharing the stories of those who have been affected.
