Host Trae Holiday was joined on this "The Day With Trae" segment by Anthony Session, also known as THE MAD BUS DRIVER. A St. Louis native, Session has spent 25 years driving a bus for King County Metro, a career from which much of the comedian's material comes. In his conversation with Holiday, Session shared details about his upcoming shows and teased an exciting new project he currently has in the works.

"Since the last time we were here at the studio, I was talking about creating a TV sitcom based on the antics of the folks who ride the bus," Session said. "It's all about the regular folks, everyday folks, and stuff like that."

Session has indeed brought his vision to life. Last June, he and his team filmed the pilot episode for his upcoming weekly TV sitcom, "The Mad Bus Driver Show." Having already garnered acclaim, the pilot screenplay earned a Laurel at the 2023 Atlanta Screenplay Awards. The show's premise will follow Session through various comedic adventures from one bus stop to the next. The show is currently being pitched to major networks to find a home platform to air it on.

"I kind of needed that to happen to know that; yeah, we got something," Sessions said of the show's breakthrough. Highlighting the efforts of the people standing behind him, Session emphasized his team's work, including Ms. Sally Ann Mark, a screenwriter who Session worked with for the award-winning pilot and his wife.

"One of the things that it takes is belief in yourself, some blessing from above, but it takes a lot of footwork, one day at a time," Session said.

He continued, "Having that person behind me saying it's your time. Do your thing; whatever it is, you need to do; wherever it is, you need to go, you do that. Take as long as you want; just don't forget to bring the right bread home when you come home in the evening."

In the meantime, Session will bring his act to the Black and Tan Hall for the highly anticipated "The Mad Bus Driver Comedy Show" on June 22.

"We're going to have The Mad Bus Driver Show coming out live, and we got a lot of stuff to discuss," Session said. "Now, it is an adult show, but we don't go so far that you gotta stick your fingers in your ear. We're just having some fun."
