"It has been a journey," Gordon reflected. "Things started out for me as a visual artist. I was looking for places that I felt like my art would be seen or valued." This search for visibility eventually led her to the world of broadcasting, where she found her true calling.
Gordon's show Back2Besa has gained significant traction, now airing on Fox 13 and expanding to the national platform Fox Soul. This move allows Gordon to reach a broader audience, sharing stories that resonate with viewers across the country. "We're really excited about that," she enthused, highlighting the show's growth and impact.
A cornerstone of Gordon's mission is showcasing Black-owned businesses and their stories. She emphasizes the importance of connecting viewers with the people behind these enterprises. "We're able to get that connection," Gordon explained. "And then when they go into that business, it's, 'Hey, I saw you on Back2Besa. I loved what you said about this.'"
Gordon's commitment to inspiring both adults and youth shines through in her work. By highlighting success stories and the journeys of Black entrepreneurs, she aims to create positive role models for the next generation. "It's putting a face to these businesses," she noted, underscoring the power of representation.
Looking ahead to 2025, Gordon expressed enthusiasm for new projects and collaborations. "We're happy to welcome Winfield Ezell Jr. as chief Storyteller here at Converge Media," she shared, hinting at exciting developments for her show and the broader Converge Media network.
As Back2Besa continues to grow, Besa Gordon remains dedicated to amplifying Black voices and stories, proving that authentic storytelling can bridge communities and inspire change.
