Converge Media proudly re-releases "The Legacy of the Soul Pole" a captivating short documentary originally released in 2022, chronicling the restoration of this iconic artwork, which has graced the exterior of The Seattle Public Library’s Douglass-Truth Branch in the Central District for over 50 years. This film delves into the rich cultural significance of the Soul Pole, a symbol that the Black Heritage Society of Washington State has hailed as a “beacon of Black pride” in the Central District.

This week, we focus on a film which highlighted Black joy and baseball in the Emerald City. The first ever HBCU Swingman Classic came to T-Mobile Park as part of MLB All-Star Weekend, featuring the best HBCU ballplayers from around the country competing in an exhibition game. Hosted by Ken Griffey Jr., it was a night to remember. Our crew was there to document the evening and community celebration that it brought.

Today, we revisit CD Panthers: The Marathon. This film took a look at the historic and beloved CD Panthers youth football and cheer program, which has been positively impacting the lives of children in the Central District for decades.
