Community Investments Strategic Advisor MANO joins The Day With Trae

Mano, the Community Investments Strategic Advisor for the Seattle Office of Civil Rights, joined Trae Holiday on The Day With Trae to talk about The People’s Budget and the work they’re doing with community to create what they hope will be a more representative budget.

They talked about Mano’s role, the participatory budget process, and how community members can get involved.

“We know that building relationships with community members is critical to a succesful community budgeting process,” Mano said. “We want to make sure folks know this is happening and that they can have a voice in the process.”

They also said they are encouraging community members to apply for positions within the process, and that they are working to create an intentional process which builds trust.

“If you’ve seen the positions before, please look at them again and consider applying. The work that we’re doing is really critical to the participatory budgeting process.”
