Digging Into the Hype: Besa Gordon Visits Fat’s Chicken and Waffles

By Besa Gordon - I’ve been wanting to try this spot for a minute, especially after featuring it on Back2Besa. Since I wasn’t at that shoot, I had to check it out for myself and see what all the hype was about!

The owner, Erica White, and I first met in 2023 when we were both featured on the Jones Soda Black History Month bottle set. So, before I even placed my order, I made sure to sign my bottle, priorities, okay?

Now, let’s talk about this honey butter chicken biscuit sandwich with sausage gravy and an egg… MY FRIEND! I took it home, added a little hot sauce, and BAE BAE, I finally understood the hype. The buttery, slightly sweet biscuit, the crispy, hot chicken, and the size?! I needed a strategy just to eat it.

Since then, I’ve also tried the shrimp and grits, fries, fried chicken, cat fish sandwich (but I ate those two, too fast for pics—don’t judge me) all of them are FIRE.
