Emotional Day at Black Media Matters Studio as Besa Gordon Supports Deaunte Damper's Debut

Besa Gordon makes final camera adjustments before Deaunte Damper begins recording this weeks episode of Back2Besa in the Black Media Matters Studio.

The Black Media Matters Studio was filled with a mix of emotions today as Besa Gordon, the beloved host of Back2Besa, made a special appearance to support Deaunte Damper in his debut as the new guest host. Besa's visit was not to be in front of the camera but to work behind the scenes, ensuring everything was perfect for Deaunte's first recording of her show Back2Besa.

Besa, who is taking a temporary leave from the show to focus on her health, was determined to make sure Deaunte, who is also the host of We Live In Color on Converge, felt confident and comfortable stepping into her shoes. She worked closely with the show's director, Erik Kalligraphy, to ensure the set was just right and that Deaunte looked his best on camera.

The atmosphere was charged with a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. Besa's dedication to the show and her support for Deaunte was evident in every detail. Her presence served as a reminder of the strong community that has been built around Back2Besa.

Deaunte, though understandably nervous, was clearly touched by Besa's gesture. He expressed his gratitude for her guidance and support, promising to do his best to uphold the show's high standards.

As the cameras started rolling, a sense of excitement filled the studio. This was a new but temporary chapter for Back2Besa, but the spirit of the show remained the same: a commitment to uplifting stories, community connection, and celebrating Black voices.

Besa's temporary departure is a testament to her courage and the importance of prioritizing health. Her dedication to ensuring a smooth transition for Deaunte speaks volumes about her character and her love for the show.

The Black Media Matters Studio is a place where dreams are realized, and today was no exception. As Deaunte Damper embarks on this new temporary journey, he carries with him the support of a community that believes in him. And while Besa may be off-screen for now, her spirit continues to inspire all those involved in Back2Besa.

Make sure to tune into Back2Besa this Saturday at 10:30 pm on FOX 13 and Sunday at 10 am on FOX 13+, and for free nationwide on the FOX Local App, and show Deaunte Damper some love!
