Seattle Opera Presents Pagliacci: A Classic Tale of Love, Jealousy, and Betrayal

Seattle Opera's 2024 season is set to open with a bang, presenting the timeless Italian opera, Pagliacci. This production, known for its iconic aria "Vesti la giubba," will take the stage at McCaw Hall from August 3rd to 17th.

Set in a small Italian village in the 1940s, Pagliacci tells the story of a commedia dell'arte troupe whose on-stage drama mirrors the real-life turmoil within their group. The plot thickens as infidelity and jealousy lead to a tragic end, blurring the lines between performance and reality.

Seattle Opera's production promises to be a visual feast, featuring artful sets and traditional commedia dell'arte costumes. The Independent has even praised the production as "visually arresting."
