Unbound Health and Wellness: MarcusAllen Wells on Cultivating Community Through Vulnerability and Consistency

MarcusAllen Wells, a co-founder of Unbound Health and Wellness, recently joined host Trae Holiday on “The Day With Trae” to discuss his fresh, holistic perspective on the fitness industry in the Pacific Northwest. His journey into the wellness space was shaped by his experiences as an inner-city athlete and the personal challenges he faced after an injury.

Wells experienced a depressive state following his injury and the loss of his grandmother, leading him to lose his love for fitness and athleticism. However, his passion was reignited while coaching high school football in Portland, Oregon.

Observing the athletes' dedication in the weight room inspired him to return to the gym himself. This path eventually led him from working as a service representative at a 24-hour fitness center to becoming a personal trainer and co-founding Unbound.

Central to Wells' approach is a commitment to authenticity and vulnerability, especially when working with youth. He emphasized the importance of being a role model.

Unbound Health and Wellness distinguishes itself through its personality and the creation of a family-oriented space. This comfort is essential because, as Wells noted, the "hardest part about doing this fitness thing is getting to the gym.”

Beyond physical training, the team at Unbound focuses on their clients' mental and spiritual well-being.

"We're more than just personal trainers... we're holistic guys that want to help guide you down this road,” he said.

Unbound Health and Wellness has established a GoFundMe page to secure equipment and provide access to their services for children who may not be able to afford personal training.
