Dixon didn't attend public school until high school. Instead, he was part of a Black-run homeschooling program called Black Starline, managed by his mother and a group of her friends. This experience marked the beginning of his involvement with the community.

Recently, on The Day with Trae, Kye Freeman-Chaudhry, founder of Saanj Winery, stopped by to talk with host Trae Holiday about the official launch of Sonje Winery next month in June. Freeman-Chaudhry started her wine journey eight years ago when her now-husband took her out on their first date.

Early on in high school, she knew she wanted to be a prosecutor — to stand up for survivors of violence. She saw it as her life's passion. She went to the University of Washington School of Law and interned at the Attorney General's office in the sexually violent predator unit for two years the clerkship with the state Supreme Court with Justice Barbara Madsen.

Originally from Somalia, Farah has seen war, he has seen refugee camps, and he came to this country getting chased by war. He landed in a small Boston-suburb, the only African there. For Farah there are two Americas. The America that Farah watched on TV while he was at a refugee camp, this America, Farah looked at as a metaphorical heaven.
