Inside Green Hill: A Mother’s Plea for Reform and Justice

In a recent episode of The Day With Trae, host Trae Holiday spoke with Rashida Robbins about the troubling conditions at Green Hill School, a juvenile detention center facing allegations of mistreatment, overdoses, and violence. Robbins, whose son is detained there, described the harsh realities, including reports of food being withheld as punishment, inadequate access to clean water, and poor living conditions.

Robbins emphasized the lack of mental health services, with many youth suffering from untreated depression and PTSD. She highlighted the need for urgent reforms, including proper nutrition, humane living conditions, and tailored mental health care.

Robbins praised the organization Kids Are Kids for providing a platform for parents to advocate for their children and push for necessary changes. She called for a complete overhaul of the system to ensure the safety and well-being of the youth in detention.

For those interested in supporting these efforts, Kids Are Kids Washington is actively working to raise awareness and advocate for policy changes.
