Leading with Values: The Desireé Wilkins Finch Story

Desireé Wilkins Finch is a name synonymous with transformative leadership and community empowerment. Born and raised in Chicago, her journey has been one of continuous learning and service, marked by a deep commitment to fostering positive change in individuals and communities.


With an impressive educational background that includes an MA in Relational Therapy with an emphasis in Leadership and an MHS Certificate in Emotional Intelligence, Desireé has honed her expertise in understanding human behavior and motivation. This foundation has been instrumental in her work as the owner of RiseLWP and founder of the Tacoma Black Fund.


Through RiseLWP, Desireé creates a supportive space where leaders can delve into their values, understand how these values influence their actions, and embark on a transformative journey. Her coaching approach focuses on empowering leaders to leverage their strengths, translate them into impactful strategies, and ultimately build stronger teams and communities.


Desireé's dedication to community building extends beyond her professional endeavors. She serves as a valued member of The Milgard Women's Initiative advisory council, a community partner at the University of Puget Sound, and a coach for Leadership Tomorrow. Her past experience as a clinician at the University of WA in the department of public health further underscores her commitment to public service.


In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Desireé has been honored as a 2021 Puget Sound Business Journal's 40 under 40 recipient. Her story is an inspiring testament to the power of values-driven leadership and the profound impact one individual can have on a community.
