"Our Jazz History is Deep": Besa Gordon Uplifts Jackson Street Jazz Trail on Good Day Seattle

Besa Gordon, the host of Back2Besa, appeared on Good Day Seattle with Erin Mayovsky this week to give viewers a sneak peek of the Jackson Street Jazz Trail segment that will appear on Back2Besa this weekend. The trail, which was recently launched, celebrates Seattle's rich jazz history.

During her appearance, Gordon emphasized the importance of the trail in highlighting the city's jazz heritage, which she believes is often overshadowed by Seattle's reputation for rock and rap music. "We're so known for rock and rap out here, but it's important to know that we have such a rich jazz history," Gordon stated.

She also discussed the trail's interactive website, which provides historical information, images, and directions for those interested in exploring the trail in person. Gordon expressed her enthusiasm for the website, stating, "I think my favorite part is the website that actually goes with it, right? So you go on the website, and you can see these different locations and what they were historically. Then, you can read the history of what happened in these locations. And then they'll show you, like, a picture of what it looks like now."

The Jackson Street Jazz Trail winds through the International District and up to Washington Hall, showcasing significant locations in Seattle's jazz scene. Gordon's upcoming Back2Besa segment promises to delve deeper into the trail's history and significance.

Be sure to tune in to Back2Besa this Saturday at 10:30 pm on FOX 13 Seattle for a full exploration of the Jackson Street Jazz Trail.
