Savoring Tacoma: Why Luv-A-Late is a Must-Visit

Luv-A-Late, owned by Aundrea McCarthy, is a charming coffee shop nestled in Tacoma’s Hill Top neighborhood. Besa Gordon recalls the first time someone tagged her in a post about Luv-A-Late on Instagram. The first thing that caught her eye was the pink explosion throughout the shop, complemented by stunning artwork curated by Bruce Pickford.

What makes Aundrea’s story remarkable is that she worked at the coffee shop for 10 years before buying it when the owners decided to sell it. Talk about falling in love with what you do!

Due to eczema flare-ups, Besa isn’t supposed to drink coffee, so she ordered a Matcha Latte during her visit. She was delighted to find it was the best Matcha Latte she had ever had! It's wonderful to find a coffee shop with great options for everyone.

A fun fact not mentioned in the segment is that Aundrea is part of the Pierce County Business Accelerator Program. This six-week program teaches everything about running a business and offers a match-and-grant opportunity. If she raises $10,000, the program matches it with another $10,000. When asked what she would do with the money, Aundrea said she’d redo her floors, as it's the only part of her coffee shop that isn’t pink.

Be sure to stop by Luv-A-Late when you’re in the Hilltop area. To help Aundrea raise that $10K, visit her shop's Instagram at luv.a.latte.espresso for the donation link.
