Naomi Kirori, a junior mass media arts major at Clark Atlanta University, shared her inspiring experience as an intern with Converge Media on The Day with Trae with host Trae Holiday. Connecting with Converge through Africatown, Naomi was actively involved in administrative tasks, particularly enjoying booking and connecting guests for the show.

Working alongside Trae Holiday, the renowned host of The Day with Trae, was a transformative experience for Naomi. Witnessing a successful Black woman in a field where representation is often lacking was inspiring and empowering. "Being able to be front and center with a Black woman doing similarly what I want to do was amazing," Naomi shared. Her interaction with Erik Kalligraphy, known for his expertise in cameras and behind-the-scenes knowledge, further fueled her passion for filmmaking.

The Black Media Matters Studio held immense importance for Naomi and the community. It provided a platform for sharing positive stories and fostering unity, especially in challenging times. For Naomi, being part of this studio was an opportunity to give back to the community that supported her growth and self-discovery. "For me, being here was my ability to give something back," she expressed.

Naomi expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and her desire to continue learning and contributing to Converge Media's mission. "I was just grateful for the opportunity, and I hoped to come back and learn more and just continue to give as much as I could," she said. Her journey served as an inspiration for aspiring filmmakers and emphasized the importance of community, representation, and mentorship in the media industry.
