Isaiah Anderson Jr. Talks Teen Summer Musical's Snow Whyte & The Seven on The Day with Trae
Isaiah Anderson Jr., a guest on The Day with Trae, recently discussed the upcoming Teen Summer Musical production of Snow Whyte & The Seven. This unique program, which has been running for over 25 years, provides young people of color the opportunity to play lead roles in theater productions.
Anderson emphasized the program's commitment to professionalism, highlighting that the young actors work with industry professionals like Michelle Lang and Raymond Cedric Thomas. The productions are held in major Seattle theaters, including the Paramount Theater, the Moore Theater, and Seattle Rep. This year, Snow Whyte & The Seven will be performed at Benaroya Hall.
The program is intensive, running Monday through Friday from nine to five for ten weeks. Despite the demanding schedule, Anderson expressed his pride in the program's success and its positive impact on the participants. He also questioned why, after 25 years, the program is still considered Seattle's Best Kept Secret.
This year's production of Snow Whyte & The Seven features a unique twist, with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs traveling to Africa in search of gold. Anderson encouraged viewers to get their tickets for the show, which runs from August 23rd to 25th. Tickets can be purchased from the Benaroya Hall website or box office.
